I’m Walter Lutzu, a lighting designer working in Italy and abroad since 2003: concerts and tours, galas and theatre, conventions, product launches, private events, permanent installations and immersive projects.
From idea to last cue
I follow a project from the first idea to the last cue. I draw it in Vectorworks Spotlight, check it in Capture, then programme and run it on ChamSys MagicQ. On large international projects I also work as technical lighting planner: Expo 2025 Osaka, the Lulu Island Project in Abu Dhabi, the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah.
Teaching and community
I teach lighting design at IDI Italian Design Institute and run Vectorworks Spotlight courses. I am Vice President of AILD, the Italian lighting designers association.
