The Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, opened on 17 March 2026 as the country’s leading cultural, scientific and educational complex, near the historic Hast-Imam ensemble. It brings together museum spaces, research facilities, libraries and educational programmes, and tells the history and contributions of Islamic civilisation through artefacts, storytelling and contemporary exhibition technology.

At its heart is the 1,400 m² exhibition New Uzbekistan – The Foundation of a New Renaissance, with more than 300 m² of LED walls and over 70 interactive digital and physical exhibits, from the main hall to an immersive tunnel. BeWunder delivered it as turnkey experience partner, together with creative partner Sila Sveta and Pitch Bureau.

Photonika handled the lighting design of the exhibition spaces. The lighting concept is by Patrizia Stella De Masi; I worked as technical planner and lighting designer together with her.
